Hartville Barn Boys

Our Story

Our bread and butter is timber framing as it was done years ago to build barns and houses.

This involves mortise and tenon joinery.
This means we do not use screws or nails, we use wooden pegs to secure the mortise and tenon joints together.

This is how we make our timber framed pavilions as well. These pavilions will outlast your children's children because of the old world craftsmanship we use.

We sell these pavilions through our other business, Pioneer's Pride.
We take pride in these structures!

Designed to Impress, Built to Last

History

Our company was originally established in 1965 by John Schlabach.

During the many years of artfully crafting these structures, John taught his son, Todd, everything he knew. Todd grew up learning everything there is to know about timber framing from his dad and Todd truly enjoyed it. So, it was only fitting when John asked Todd to help him run the business.

Both John and Todd have many years of experience in restoring barns and timber frame structures that help them provide a quality product that their customers will be able to enjoy for many years to come.

Vision

Our main goal is to produce something that a family will be proud to call their own.
Our vision is to restore and build as many timber framed structures to bring back the old world craftsmanship that was used years ago to produce sturdy and reliable structures.
